Privacy Policy
Abby is an AI assistant you can call, operated by 2865624 ONTARIO INC. ("we", "us"), a corporation based in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Abby, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you call
- Your phone number and basic call details, such as when you called, how long the call lasted and how it ended. In our call records, phone numbers are shortened to their last four digits.
- What you say. Our AI providers process your voice as you speak, so Abby can understand you and reply. We keep a written transcript of each call and a short description of each task you ask Abby to do. Numbers four digits or longer are removed from transcripts and task descriptions. We don't store audio recordings of calls.
- Technical details, such as response times and errors, so we can keep Abby working well.
If you set up an account
- Your phone number and first name.
- Your PIN, stored only as a secure hash that can't be turned back into your PIN. Your PIN is never sent to our AI providers and never appears in transcripts or logs.
- Login attempts, so we can lock logins after too many wrong PINs.
When we text you
- Your mobile number, the texts we send you, and your requests to receive or stop texts.
Pages we text you
If you ask Abby to text you a link to a research report, a list or other details, we store that page so you can open it. Anyone with the link can open it, so share it only with people you trust.
Connected accounts
If you connect a Google or Microsoft account, we access only the information needed for what you ask Abby to do, such as checking your calendar or sending an email you've asked her to send, and only when you ask during a call. We store the permission you give us securely, and you can disconnect at any time.
On this website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use your information
- To hold your conversations and do what you ask, including searching the web and using any accounts you've connected, at your request.
- To log you in and protect your account.
- To send the texts you ask for.
- To improve Abby, for example by reviewing transcripts to fix mistakes, improve her answers and compare the AI providers we use.
- To prevent abuse and to meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't train AI models on it.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that make Abby work, and only what they need:
- Twilio, which connects your calls and sends texts and sign-up codes.
- Our AI providers (Google, OpenAI and Anthropic), which process what you say during calls and help Abby research and answer your requests.
- Our hosting provider, which runs our servers.
- Our payment processor, if you buy a paid plan. We don't see or store your full card number.
Under their terms for business customers, our AI providers don't use this information to train their models. They may keep it for a limited time to detect abuse, as described in their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
Text messaging
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of sharing above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Google user data
Abby's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use data from Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
Where your information is processed
We're based in Canada, and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. While your information is outside your country, courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there may be able to access it under local law.
How long we keep it
- Call records and transcripts: 90 days.
- Pages we text you, such as research reports: up to 90 days.
- Account information: until you delete your account.
- Records of your texting consent and opt-outs: as long as we need them to show we followed texting rules.
How we protect it
We limit who can access your information, store PINs only as secure hashes, encrypt connections, and keep our keys and passwords secret. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information, and we'll tell you if a breach puts you at real risk of significant harm.
Your choices and rights
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing contact@abbyassistant.app. We'll respond within 30 days.
- Delete your account at any time by emailing us.
- Stop texts by replying STOP to any text from Abby.
- Disconnect connected accounts at any time.
If you're in Canada and aren't satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law.
Children
Abby is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has used Abby, contact us and we'll delete their information.
