Texting with Abby
Abby only texts you when you ask her to during a call. Texting is optional: you can call and talk to Abby without ever getting a text.
Who sends the texts
Texts come from Abby, a service of 2865624 Ontario Inc. Links come from Abby's own number, (331) 320-2229. Every text names Abby, so you know it's from us.
When Abby texts you
- Sign-up codes. When you ask Abby to set up an account, she texts a one-time code to the number you're calling from, to confirm the number is yours.
- Links you ask for. When something is easier to read than to hear, Abby can text you a link to a page on abbyassistant.app: a link to connect your Google or Microsoft account, a research report, a recipe, an address or a list from your call. She only sends it if you say yes. A research report is texted when it's ready, which can be shortly after your call.
Every text has just one link, always to abbyassistant.app. Each link is unique to your request and stops working after a while.
We don't send marketing or promotional texts.
How you agree to texts
You agree on the call itself. Before texting a link, Abby says what it's for, then gives the same details every time. For a link to connect your account, she says:
"I can text you a link to connect your account. It's one text from Abby to this number. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out. Our terms and privacy policy are at abbyassistant.app. Want me to send it?"
For a research report, she starts with "I can text you a link to the report when it's ready." For anything else, the first sentence names what you asked for, such as "I can text you a link to that recipe." The rest is always the same.
She sends the text only if you say yes, then confirms with "Done, it's on its way." If you say no, nothing is sent. Texts go only to the number you're calling from, and we keep a record of each yes.
How often
Only when you ask, usually one text per request. Message frequency varies.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
